Former Elementary School Teacher Keri McIntyre Reacts to Video Posting on YouTube
With Van Halen’s smash single “Hot for Teacher” providing the music backdrop somebody taped and then posted a video of then fifth grade teacher Keri McIntyre at a graduation ceremony for her students.
In the video the owner of the camera focuses on McIntyre rather than any of her Winding Springs Elementary students and pans from her face, to her butt, back to her face during the three and a half minute recording.
McIntyre was oblivious to the video until a student teacher who assisted her last year at the Charlotte, North Carolina school emailed her the video that appeared on YouTube. While the video sharing site pulled the clip, it was estimated to have attracted more than 200,000 views while up.
It wasn’t just the video that angered McIntyre but the comments that were associated with the video. The crude and degrading comments posted led McIntyre to contact the superintendent of Mecklenburg-County Schools and then pledge that she would not be satisfied until the individual who filmed the video was uncovered.
