Lance Briggs' Lamborghini Found in Car Accident

A Lamborghini registered to Chicago Bears linebacker Lance Briggs was found damaged and abandoned early Monday alongside the Edens Expressway on the city’s North Side.

Illinois State Police officials said the black 2007 Roadster was discovered around 3:15 a.m. on northbound I-94 near the Devon Avenue exit. It had crashed into a light pole.

Although it is registered to Briggs, it is not certain who was the driver during this accident. It doesn't appear anyone was injured in the crash. However, once the driver is identified, he or she can face misdemeanor charges for improper lane usage and leaving the scene of the accident.

The vehicle was not reported stolen.

All attempts to contact Briggs thus far have failed. No phone calls have been returned by team spokesmen nor the Bears' public relations office.

Today is not a good day for Lamborghini. This same car was the car Nick Hogan, son of wrestler Hulk Hogan, crashed the first time he got in a car accident. The Lamborghini was his father's. This time around, Hogan, whose real name is Nick Bollea, crashed his own Toyota Supra in Clearwater, FL Sunday.

Briggs was the topic of a trade from the Bears this summer. The talks became very intense as he was very close to being traded to the Washington Redskins before the 2007 Draft, but the deal fizzled out. Last season, Briggs made the All-Pro team and helped take the Bears to the Super Bowl. He had 130 tackles, one sack and two interceptions.
