Little League World Series Team Caught in Bus Fire

A bus carrying two Asian teams leaving the Little League World Series caught fire early Monday, August 27, 2007.

The bus was carrying the second-place team from Japan and a team from Taipei when it caught fire near Bucknell University in Lewisburg, PA after leaving South Williamsport earlier that morning.

The team’s chaperones and reporting officials assume that the fire probably started in the engine compartment and heavily damaged the rear of the vehicle.

Another Susquehanna Trailways bus soon arrived to take the teams to Baltimore-Washington International Airport as no one was reported injured.
