New Role In Store For Fred Thompson; Politician Turned Actor,

Fred Thompson, former Republican Senator from Tennessee is learning his lines for his next acting job as he leaves the television bench for the political stump. With political experience going back to the days of Watergate, when he helped with the investigation, through his term in the Senate, Thompson has picked up political savvy few have the opportunity to experience.

It is his pending entry into the political area as a possible candidate for president that will be his first foray into reality television. Ending his stint as a judge on Law and Order to focus on a possible run for president, his late entry into the field is not seen as a detraction for his chances, since he can use his on-screen persona for name recognition.

Supporters have been after him to toss his hat into the Republican ring and their website, www.imwithfred.com shows how much they believe in his need to run for office. Possible because there doesn’t seem to be much of anything in his closets excepts his suits. Unlike others with a lot of political experience, his non-controversial methods have left him fairly unscathed in the political wars that exist in all elections. He was re-elected in Tennessee because the voters actually liked him.

Even though as of mid-August he has not officially declared, there is still plenty of time to make up for missing the early start to this year’s run for the White House. He has experience, he has some name recognition and he has writers that can keep him on track and help him learn his lines and rehearse before taking the stage in front of the camera. However, with these cameras there will be no retakes if he flubs his lines.
