Eagles Release Westbrook

The Philadelphia Eagles released Brian Westbrook on Tuesday.  It was a regrettable move for the Eagles, as the coach and management agree that Westbrook was one of the greatest players in franchise history.  Despite his prolific career statistics, however, he simply had too many injuries last season and wasn’t productive enough.  Westbrook has since made clear his intentions to return to the NFL and has gone on record as stating that he harbors no ill will toward the Eagles.
