Amy Winehouse cancels performance at MTV Video Music Awards

Amy Winehouse has cancelled her performance at MTV’s Video Music Awards. Her record label, Universal Public Records, announced the troubled singer would not be keeping any of her United States appearances “in a continued effort to support Amy Winehouse’s well-being.”

Winehouse and her husband Blake Fielder-Civil have been urged by their family to seek treatment for their drug addictions. The family fears they may die soon of drug overdose.

The newlyweds where photographed last week running out of a London hotel bloody and bruised after an apparent fight. Winehouse denied Civil was responsible for her cuts and bruises.

The “Rehab” singer has admitted to an alcohol and drug problem in the past. She reportedly refuses to go to rehab without Civil.
