Czech Republic Loses to Finland Despite Jagr's Return

Jagr's Return From Injury Not Enough to Send Czechs to Semifinals

Czech Olympic hockey player Jaromir Jagr left Tuesday night’s game against Latvia with an upper-body injury.  The Czech Republic’s overtime victory catapulted them to the quarterfinals.  No doubt a result a massive hit received by Alex Ovechkin on Sunday, Jagr left the game in the second period.  Despite being questionable for Wednesday night’s game against Finland, Jagr still managed to play.  However, this was not enough for the Czechs, as they still lost 2-0 to Finland in the quarterfinals.  Jagr was held scoreless, and Finland will go on to play the United States in the semifinals.
