For his role in the murder of Michael LaHood Jr. eleven years ago Kenneth Foster was sentenced to death and on Thursday evening, barring any last minute reprieve, he will be strapped to a gurney and given a lethal injection.
While Foster was not the one who fired the gun that killed LaHood he was subject to the death penalty under a Texas law that states if you abet a murder you are as guilty as the killer.
Foster was 19-years-old when he was driving his friends around San Antonio, drunk and high on marijuana the four decided to rob several people. When they came across LaHood, who was accompanied by his girlfriend, things went wrong and Mauriceo Brown shot the 25-year-old man, killing him instantly.
Brown was executed just over a year ago for pulling the trigger and now, because Foster was driving the car, he will meet the same fate.
Foster will become the third inmate on Texas’ Death Row to be executed this week.
