Dana Perino Replaces Tony Snow as White House Press Secretary

Tony Snow resigned today as White House Press Secretary paving the way for Dana Perino to assume the role as President George W. Bush’s chief spokesman.

Snow, who had been a Fox News commentator prior to becoming a top aide for Bush, cited financial reasons for his decision. As Press Secretary Snow was paid $168,000 a year, thought to be significantly less than what he was making on the News Corp. network.

With Snow set to leave the position on Sept. 14 current deputy press secretary Dana Perino will take the position in two weeks.
