Thom Yorke Announces Gigs for Side Project, Atoms for Peace

Thom Yorke has announced that his side project will play en 8-date tour in the U.S. prior to their performance at the Coachella Music & Arts Festival. The band has officially been named Atoms for Peace.

The tour begins at New York’s Roseland Ballroom on April 5-6, 2010 and the day prior to Coachella will hit the Santa Barbara Bowl in California on April 17, 2010.

Previously on the lineup as ????, Atoms for Peace consist of Flea from the Chili Peppers, drummer Joey Waronker from Beck, producer Nigel Godrich, and Forro in the Dark percussionist Mauro Refosco. Atom for Peace is named after a song on Yorke’s 2006 solo album “The Eraser.”
