Hillary Clinton Has Better Perspective Over Opponents On Issues Of Terrorism

Senator Hillary Clinton said that she is well aware of the treats of terrorism and representing New York after the September 11 attack gave her a “somewhat different perspective” on the issue compared to the other candidates. Clinton is of the opinion that the treat of terrorism is constant and that enemies are just waiting for the right time to strike in such a way that will cause huge damage as in the September 11 attack.

Hillary Clinton has been consistently extending her lead over the rest of the Democrats since January according to the polls on USAElectionPolls.com.

In an interview with the Concord Monitor, Senator Clinton said that she believed that diplomacy is still the best way to handle terrorism. The growing anti-American sentiment in the Muslin nations should be dealt with diplomatically to avoid the loss of many lives. According to Senator Clinton, the country should focus on aggressive diplomacy, intensive intelligence gathering and tough-on-terrorism stand which was the trademark of the administration of her husband former-resident Bill Clinton. She believes that by instituting aggressive diplomacy approach to terrorism, Muslims will be encouraged to reject the extremists in their midst.

Senator Clinton was one those who voted to authorize the Bush administration to go to war in Iraq in 2002 as an aftermath of the September 11 attack. However, unlike the rest of those senators who cast their votes in favor of the Iraq war, Senator Clinton has not retracted her decision to vote for the authorization of the war. She maintains that the fault lies in the Bush administration for launching the conflict and failing to handle the situation properly and not on the people who voted for the authorization of the war.
