Edie Brickell and New Bohemians Keyboardist Shot to Death
Edie Brickell and New Bohemians keyboardist Jeffrey Albrecht was shot and killed in Dallas, TX. on Monday after he attempted to kick in the door of his girlfriend’s neighbor.
It is unclear as to why Albrecht left his girlfriend’s house at 4 a.m. and went to the neighbor’s house but when he began pounding on the door he was greeted with a shot through the door.
According to police reports a woman living in the neighboring house awoke her husband saying that there was somebody trying to break in to their house. The husband shouted at Albrecht to leave and then fired a shot through the door.
Some news outlets reported that the 34-year-old keyboardist had beaten up his girlfriend before going to the neighbors house but those allegations have not been confirmed.
Albrecht had played with Edie Brickell & New Bohemians since 1999 and had played with her husband Paul Simon as well.
