Albrecht was shot to death by his girlfriend’s neighbor while ‘trying to kick in the door’ police say. The death is under investigation but police say the neighbor may have believed he was a burglar. It is still unclear why Albrecht went to the house.
“He was at his girlfriend’s house last night. He left the house and went next door and – for whatever reason, which we don’t know – he knocked on the neighbor’s door,” said Albrecht’s roommate Danny Balis. “And from what I understand, he was persistent. I don’t know if there was a verbal exchange, but the person panicked and fired a shot through the door.”
The 34-year-old keyboardist died at the scene.
