John Edwards Wants To Bolster Cancer Treatment

Senator John Edwards, a Democratic presidential candidate offers a strategy for dealing with cancer as part of his programs of government. According to Edwards, the fact that there are so many Americans, including his wife Elizabeth, are suffering from breast cancer made him realize that this disease should be given more attention by the government. He said that a lot of people who are suffering from this type of disease are not receiving the right kind of treatment because they do not have enough health care coverage. As a result of inadequate medical attention, many of these Americans who have cancer suffer from intense pain and discomfort.

The polls on USAElectionPolls.com suggest that John Edwards is not only slipping but in danger of falling further behind in the pack with Bill Richardson overtaking him for third place overall in the Democratic race. John Edwards has recently gained key union endorsements and the analysts at USAElectionPolls.com say that this will likely help bolster his campaign and give him a much needed boost.

Aside from providing better health care treatments for people with cancer, Edwards wants to institute measures that will bolster the research funding and create a support network for cancer patients. Edwards proposed to increase the funding for researches conducted by the National Institutes for Health on different types of cancers. He hopes that by giving this research projects ample funding, the research process will be made more efficient. On the other hand, he also proposes that government should offer support systems for cancer patients and their families. According to him, although many hospitals in the country are offering support networks for cancer patients and their families, most of these initiatives are initiated by private individuals and organizations.
