Bernie Scheffler Launches New Website for Fort Worth City Council Campaign

Improved website offers enhanced opportunities for District 9 residents to contact campaign, receive e-mail updates, contribute, and volunteer

Bernie Scheffler announced today the launch of a new and improved campaign website, www.iheartfw.com. Scheffler, who is running for the District 9 Fort Worth City Council seat vacated by Wendy Davis, says his website is one thing that sets him apart from other candidates.

“We’ve tried to make our website as informative as possible, and to make it easier than ever for interested citizens to interact with the campaign,” Scheffler said. “I think we’ve succeeded in that goal. Response to the new site, which just launched yesterday, has already been fantastic.”

New site features include:

  • Platform highlights, including an opposition to urban gas drilling
  • Downloadable PDF of Bernie’s complete platform
  • List of endorsements from the District 9 community
  • Improved contact form, with comments field and volunteer check boxes
  • Streamlined link to make online contributions easier
  • More active blog linked to site, with multi-media features like video and audio

“I’m very excited that our website will make it easier for our District 9 neighbors to get in touch with our campaign,” Scheffler said, “because from day one this campaign been about the people of this District, not about me.”

“I hope we’ll continue to see increased voter involvement, like we did when I ran against Wendy Davis 3 months ago. I’d like to see as many or more people vote in local elections as turn out for presidential elections, because local elections affect people’s lives more directly,” Scheffler said. “The president doesn’t decide whether an energy company can drill a gas well 250 feet from your home, or next to your favorite park. Your city council person has a say in that, though,” he said.
