BTE hearing aids are behind the ear hearing aids that typically require a custom ear mold. BTE hearing aids are designed for people with severe hearing loss.
openfit hearing aids:
Openfit hearing aids are much smaller than bte hearing aids and do not require an ear mold. The hearing aids have a thin nearly invisible tube that goes from the hearing aid into the ear canal. Openfit hearing aids were designed for people with that have a high frequency hearing loss.
cic hearing aids:
CIC hearing aids are completely in canal hearing aids. They are the most invisible hearing aids that can be purchased because they are completely hidden in the ear canal.
receiver-in-canal hearing aids:
Receiver-In-Canal(RIC) hearing aids are similar to openfit hearing aid but instead of having a thin tube that the sound travels down, the hearing aids have a thin tube that has a nearly invisible wire that is connected to the hearing aid receiver or speaker. This part of the hearing aid sits inside the ear canal similar to the the open-fit hearing aid.
