Mrs. Wyoming Kelly McBee Wins Mrs. America Crown

Mrs. Wyoming Kelly McBee was crowned Mrs. America on Wednesday night at the Loews Ventana Canyon Resort in Arizona.

The 30-year-old mother of three placed ahead of Mrs. Tennessee Christina Ryan who made headlines earlier in the Mrs. America competition after she was bitten by a snake and had to be rushed to a hospital.

McBee, who works as a beauty consultant in Worland, Wyoming, said after being crowned “"I'm in shock, I don't believe it.”

Luciano Pavarotti Dies at 71 after Battle with Pancreatic Cancer

 

Luciano Pavarotti, known throughout the world as one of the truly great voices in opera, died at the age of 71 on Thursday after succumbing to pancreatic cancer.

 

As one of the “Three Tenors” Pavarotti helped bring opera to a new level of popularity amongst the mainstream. Known for his powerful voice, Pavarotti earned the nickname “King of the High C’s and became one of the most recognizable figures in opera history.

 

Pavarotti’s personality along with his stage presence brought him millions of fans and his association with Placido Domingo and Jose Carreras, his partners in the “Three Tenors” concerts, brought opera a level of exposure never before seen.

 

Pavarotti performed in his last opera, Puccini’s “Tosca,” in March 2004 at New York's Metropolitan. 

 

According to his manager Pavarotti had his wife, four daughters and sister near him when he passed away.
