The parents of Madeleine McCann, Kate and Gerry McCann, will remain in Portugal following yesterday’s announcement that they were being considered official suspects in the disappearance of their daughter.
Madeleine McCann went missing on May 3, nine days prior to her fourth birthday, while her family was vacationing in Portugal. According to the parents they had left Madeleine, along with their two-year-old twins, unsupervised in their rented villa while they went out for dinner. When they returned Madeleine was gone and a massive international search was launched for the young girl.
After four months with no strong leads Friday proved to be a major shakeup in the case as both Kate and Gerry McCann were declared to be suspects in the disappearance. The British couple will now remain in Portugal as police continue to investigate the couple.
