Pakistani Prostitutes Beheaded, Bodies Found on Outskirts of City of Bannu

Islamic militants in Pakistan have beheaded two women that they accused of being prostitutes.

The bodies of the two women were found by villagers on the outskirts of the city of Bannu.

Police found a note on the bodies that accused the women of participating in "acts of obscenity". The note read: "We have started doing this to end obscenity in the area."

The region surrounding Bannu is known as an area for militants who want to enforce their understanding of Islamic law.

Senior district police officer Dar Khattak stated that this was the first time militants had directly targeted and killed women in the region.

Militants have also targeted numerous music and movie shops that reveal obscenity.
