Jane Wyman, Oscar Winning Actress, Dies at 93

Jane Wyman, best remembered for her Oscar award-winning performance in the 1948 classic “Johnny Belinda,” died on Monday at the age of 93.

While Wyman earned an Academy Award for her performance as a deaf-mute in the film and went on to star in the long running CBS series “Falcon Crest” she also made a name for herself as the first wife of former president Ronald Reagan.

Wyman and Reagan were married from 1940-1948, a period in which she earned an Oscar nomination for “The Yearling.” She earned nominations for “The Blue Veil” and “Magnificent Obsession” as well while earning Golden Globes for “The Blue Veil” and “Johnny Belinda.”

In 1984 Wyman won a Golden Globe for her role as Angela Channing on “Falcon Crest”
