Suicide Bomber Attacks Police Station in North West Frontier Province of Pakistan, at least Three Officers Dead

A suicide bomber targeting a police station in the North West Frontier Province of Pakistan has killed at least three officers and injured several more after slamming a vehicle packed with explosives into the building.

The attack occurred in the town of Karak, near the border Pakistan shares with Afghanistan, and the blast not only destroyed much of the police station but caused significant damage to a nearby mosque.

Rescue crews are searching for victims buried in debris with at least 13 people having been taken to hospitals, some of them listed in critical condition.

There have been no claims of responsibility for the bombing but the area remains a stronghold for Taliban militants and al-Qaeda fighters.
