Senator John Edwards is campaigning during one of the hardest fights of his wife’s life. His presidential bid has continued, even though he announced his wife’s recurrence of breast cancer in March, at which time his run was in question. However, he has continued his bid for the nomination, and he has done so with her help.
John Edwards' wife has given him a stronger voice in the fight for universal health care. Polls posted on USAElectionPolls.com suggest that John Edwards is slowly bouncing back from a slumber.
Not only has Elizabeth Edwards been dealing with her husband’s bid for the Presidency while she deals with Cancer, she has been right there with him, campaigning as well during the same time. She’s been campaigning with their two young children in tow as well, and feels that there are many factors that will allow her to help in her husband’s campaign, and will allow her to help if her husband was to win the Oval Office.
Edwards believes that because she grew up in a military family, he has personal ties and feelings that allow her to have more credibility when it comes to the war in Iraq and the other national conflicts that she talks about on a daily basis. She wants the families to know that she doesn’t intend to allow anyone to forget about them, as well.
She also hopes that other candidates stand up and debate her and talk to her about important issues, even though she is dealing with Cancer as well. She does not want the important issues to be trumped by her sickness, and wants only to be treated as any other spouse of someone campaigning for presidency.
