Large areas of northern
So far at least 20 people have died in the floods that have submerged the land. This leads to an even bigger problem because the land is their primary source of food for the entire country.
According to the Ghana Red Cross approximately 400,000 people have lost their homes.

A reported 20 Togolese have also been killed, while 101 bridges and 46 schools have been ruined.
"The situation is dire," said Benonita Bismark, from the Ghana Red Cross Society and as a result, the government is sending food aid to the region.
She also said the situation was made worse when a dam in the nearby area
There have already been some cases of cholera in the area. More so in the upper east region is where malaria and cholera has its highest tendencies.
People in the area are being urged to boil their drinking water, as well as keep a net in order to keep mosquitoes from spreading diseases.
