O.J. Simpson arrested in connection with robbery

O.J. Simpson, who was the prime suspect in his wife’s murder case, has been arrested at the Palms Hotel in Las Vegas on charges relating to a casino robbery on Thursday.

Alfred Beardsley, a sports memorabilia dealer, claims Simpson and a group of men stormed his hotel room and held him a gunpoint while they took O.J. memorabilia that belonged to him. He also claimed one of Simpson’s men knocked him around before leaving. Simpson says he and his crew were only getting back personal items that belonged to him and says there were no guns involved.

Walter Alexander, 46, was also arrested in the case. He is charged with two counts of robbery with a deadly weapon, two counts of assault with a deadly weapon, conspiracy to commit robbery and burglary with a deadly weapon.

Police say as many as six people could be arrested in the case. They say two firearms and more evidence were found earlier today.

Simpson was acquitted of murder charges in 1995 in connection with the murder of his wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and her friend, Ron Goldman. His book, ‘If I Did It: Confessions of the Killer,’ was recently published. ‘If I Did It’ is his description of the murders ‘if he did it.’
