Carlos Evans claimed ‘Magic Stick’ hit No. 2 on the billboard charts and sold 2 million copies, but all he received was $7,500.
50 Cent and Lil’ Kim, who have been having an ongoing public battle, and their record labels face claims that Evans never received money that was due him. 50 Cents lawyer shoots back at the claim saying it was Evans’ fault he never received the money because he used a sample from another song without 50’s permission.
Meanwhile, 50 Cent is involved in a battle of a different sort. 50 and rapper Kanye West are embroiled in a musical battle. 50 vowed to quit his rapping career if West’s new CD ‘Graduation’ outsold his new ‘Curtis’ album. As of now West is in the lead as ‘Graduation’ has sold 600,000 copies and ‘Curtis’ has only sold 430,000 copies.
