Fashion Designer Marc Ecko Allows Fans to Determine Fate of Barry Bonds' 756th Home Run Ball

Fashion designer Marc Ecko is putting the fate of Barry Bonds' record-breaking 756th home run ball up to fans. Ecko, who was just recently identified as the buyer of the record-setting ball, has built a website, Vote756.com, to decide what to do with the ball.

Ecko paid $752,467 at a Sotheby's/SCP auction for the ball on Saturday.

According to the website, there are three different options for the ball: send it to the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, NY with, or without an asterisk, or launch it into space. The asterisk is to signify the controversy surrounding Barry Bonds and the allegations of steroids.

"I have my own opinion, I've been part of this debate just like everyone else," Ecko said in a post on the site. "But I wanted to make it just a little more real. I bought this baseball to democratize the debate over what to do with it."
