A number of Miami’s small to mid-sized companies do not consider how critical data backup and security measures are to preserving their livelihoods.  In fact, a recent survey conducted by Info-Tech Research Group revealed that over 60 percent of businesses do not have a disaster recovery plan in place to resume IT services in the event of a crisis. 

This lack of preparation leaves businesses vulnerable to a host of unexpected disasters, and in many cases the failure to prepare for the possibility of data loss can destroy companies.  According to the National Archives and Records Administration in Washington, of all businesses that lost data for 10 days or more due to disasters, 50 percent filed for bankruptcy immediately and 93 percent filed for bankruptcy within one year.
