O.J. Simpson official charged with 10 felonies, kidnapping with deadly weapon added

O.J. Simpson was officially charged today with 10 felonies in connection with an armed robbery. The former football star, who was acquitted in 1995 of the murder of his wife and her friend, was charged with more felonies than was initially named.

Kidnapping with a deadly weapon was added to the list as well as conspiracy to commit a kidnapping. Simpson, and three other men, was charged with conspiracy to kidnap, kidnapping with a deadly weapon, burglary with a deadly weapon, robbery with a deadly weapon, assault with a deadly weapon, and coercion with use of a deadly weapon.

If convicted, Simpson faces up to 30 years in prison for each count.

Simpson is accused of robbing the hotel room of memorabilia dealer Alfred Beardsley. Simpson claims he did not steal anything; Beardsley had personal items that belonged to him and he was merely trying to get them back. Victims of the alleged robbery say they were held at gunpoint by Simpson and five other men.
