Is Barack Obama A Preacher, Or A Candidate?

When Obama schedules an event, people line up hours in advance to get in the door. At least, that is what happened in the state of Kentucky. Although the state draws many presidential nominees speaking, Obama seemed to attract more of an audience than anyone else before. Everyone was there not only to support Obama, but also to see what he was all about. They were gauging him, fully.

The polls at USA Election Polls shows that Obama has come down in the polls over the past couple of months.

As Obama began his talk, it was clear he immediately drew in every person in the building. He spoke with such passion and such dignity that it was confusing to determine if he was a politician or a preacher. It was not only the message he was delivering, but the mannerisms he used to deliver it.

The message was one that is familiarly related to Obama. It was one of hope, much like one you’d hear in Sunday services. He spoke of how he was fearless to the other countries of the world and how he would even be willing to negotiate with America’s worst enemies. He raised and lowered his voice in a dramatic fashion of an old fashioned minister, standing on the pulpit.

And as he talked, people listened. They listened so much in fact that by the time he finished, it is certain he had won over the entire crowd. Women stood for hours in high heels to hear him speak. Elderly people sweated in the heat, without seats to listen to Obama. It was almost as if Elvis had been revived, with the applause he received.
