Republicans Giuliani, McCain, Romney May Be In Trouble In The 2008 Presidential Election

With heavy topics leading to heated debates the candidates involved in the 2008 presidential election have a lot on their plate; some more than others due to topics such as illegal immigration, abortion and gay rights. These topics are lowering the possible Republican votes of three groups of Americans. These three groups include Hispanics, Youth (ages 18-29) and Independents.

With the debates on illegal immigration many of the Hispanic Americans are feeling alienated and uncomfortable with the views and discussions from our Republican candidates such as Rudy Giuliani, John McCain, and Mitt Romney. According to USA Election Polls (USAElectionPolls.com), McCain is doing best in the Western states, which was predicted. His strongest hold is in Arizona. However he is still not coming close to meeting the response Giuliani is holding.

Our American youth often feels that the Republican Party is too old fashioned and is not trying to keep up with the times and world change. These young Americans ages 18-29 are left leaning towards democratic view points and topic stands.

Independents are left looking for more freedom and loose laws on abortion and gay marriage. Republicans are often in support of the pro-life movement that saves the innocent lives of millions of children. For those people who are pro-choice they feel that it’s their body their choice no matter the emotional or physical effects. Many republicans believe that marriage is holy and is meant for one man and one woman. Other Americans believe that they can stray from this choice and choose to support gay rights and gay marriage.

These topics are already complex enough but the stand points on each of these can really effect the over all choice of who these voters want to be the next president. This information was collected from reviewing articles on www.cnn.com.
