The War in Iraq Versus Illegal Immigration - Rudy Giuliani

As Sen. Hillary Clinton began talking about her approach to the War in Iraq she was told that her decision would leave troops at risk. Gov. Bill Richardson brought about this point. Sen. Clinton states that it is time to begin bringing home our troops since there is no military solution in Iraq. She also stated that it is time that we stop refereeing Iraq’s civil war. For those of the American people who have lost sons and daughters, husbands and wives this choice has come too late. Many Americans have longed to hear our current president say these very words, but have been disappointed with speeches stating that our troops must remain in place at the time being. While the war in Iraq is heavy on the mind of the American people as well as our presidential candidates, Immigration is close behind. It is estimated there is over twelve million illegal immigrants living in the United States. A security fence has already begun to be built along the border of San Diego, California. 17.9 miles worth that has proven to lower the smuggling of illegal immigrants as well as illegal drugs.

Plans to continue building 854 miles worth of fence along the southern U.S. border are set in place. The former NYC governor, Rudy Giuliani has faced this issue head on, but with no success. INS is understaffed and is not able to deal with the necessary deportations that should in-fact take place. Giuliani suggested hi-tech systems such as heat detection, motion detection and photo equipment to be placed along the borders. He states that this technology exists and has been proven successful in other countries. The topics and debates of the Iraq war and illegal immigration will continue until our future president has the power to carry out their solution. As the American people all we can do is vote and be hopeful that the next president can conquer the issues that we currently face.

According to USA Election Polls (USAElectionPolls.com), Giuliani is leading the nominations for Republican candidate at 32% His closest competitor in the race is Thompson weighing in at 20%.
