Osama bin Laden Expected to Release Message Declaring War on Pakistani President Musharraf

A new message declaring war on Pakistani President Gen. Pervez Musharraf is expected to be released shortly by al-Qaida leader Osama bin Laden.

According to an Islamic militant website that posted a banner on Thursday that read in part, “Urgent, al-Qaida declares war on the tyrant Pervez Musharraf and his apostate army, in the words of Osama bin Laden.”

The new message is expected to come on the heels of the recent release of a video in which bin Laden’s deputy, Ayman al-Zawahri, denounced Pakistan’s July involvement in Islamabad shortly after Islamic militants overran the Red Mosque.

In his video message al-Zawahri attacked Musharraf for the July incident by saying it “revealed the extent of the despicableness, lowliness and treason of Musharraf and his forces, who don't deserve the honor of defending Pakistan, because Pakistan is a Muslim land, whereas the forces of Musharraf are hunting dogs under Bush's crucifix.”
