Rudy Giuliani Has Problems With City Policies

Every candidate is running into his or her own share of problems. Rudy Giuliani is running into them as well, in his own city. An organization touting immigration reform thinks that Giuliani has taken a hit in New York because of his view of the city as a sanctuary for illegal immigrants.

The accusations have begun to build after an order in New Jersey that law enforcement must notify the federal immigration authorities whenever they arrest someone who is an illegal alien. This had not happened until it was found that three Newark college students were slain by two illegal immigrants. Until this point, Newark had been a sanctuary city, but it is not any longer.

However, New York City is still touted as being a sanctuary city, and has been ever since Giuliani was in charge of it.

The way that New York City deals with illegal immigrants has become an interesting twist in Giuliani’s campaign. He is running into issues regarding how he feels about immigration, how he feels a city should operate with regards to illegal immigration, and what he feels should be done about it. In a nation that relies on the work, and the votes of people who were not born here, Giuliani is facing a major problem. He is going to have to come up with a steadfast opinion and idea on the subject, and he is going to have to do some explaining about the situation in New York City – in a way that can please immigrants and citizens as well.

According to USA Election Polls (USAElectionPolls.com), Giuliani is leading the nominations for Republican candidate at 32% His closest competitor in the race is Thompson weighing in at 20%.
