American International Group, Inc. (Public, NYSE:AIG) jumped 8.80% to $26.95 after Prudential Financial, Inc. (NYSE:PRU), Britain’s largest insurer, agreed to buy American International Group Inc.’s Asian life operations for $35.5 billion to be paid $25 billion in cash and $10.5 billion in stock and other securities for AIA Group Ltd., the London- based insurer said in a statement today.

OSI Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (Public, NASDAQ:OSIP) skyrocketed 50% to $55.60 as apan's Astellas Pharma Inc offered to buy U.S. drugmaker OSI Pharmaceuticals OSI Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (NASDAQ:OSIP) or $52.00 a share, or about $3.5 billion, in cash to gain access to OSI's cancer drug Tarceva.
