Delaware State University Shooting Leaves Two Students Wounded, Gunman at Large

Classes were canceled on the campus of Delaware State University on Friday after a gunman shot two students early this morning just outside the school’s Memorial Hall.

 

The shooting occurred just before 1:00 a.m. and left a male and female student wounded. Both victims were taken to the hospital and while the male student is in stable condition the female’s injuries are considered serious.

 

Police are looking for a male suspect in the shooting.

 

In the wake of the Virginia Tech shootings school officials at Delaware State University shut down the campus and cancelled all classes until the suspect is apprehended. The school notified students by telephone, website and flyers and encouraged them to stay inside.
