At the close of last December China was the largest single holder of U.S. government debt with $894.8 in Treasury securities according to Friday’s Treasury Department announcement. Early in February; however, new data indicated a shit in international capital that put Japan ahead of China in holdings. Now the Treasury is revoking this development and benchmark revisions to the data denote that China once again holds the most U.S. securities.
