Atlanta Motor Speedway First Stop for ACO Run Scotts Turf Builder Cornhole Classic

The 2010 ACO run Scotts Turf Builder Cornhole Classic starts with the Atlanta Motor Speedway.

Speedway Motorsports Inc., Scotts Turf Builder and Speedway Children’s Charities have selected American Cornhole Organization, the ACO, to run Speedway Cornhole tournaments on multiple race weekends in 2010. Two 64 team double-elimination tournaments will be run on Friday and Saturday of each race weekend with the Championship match on Sunday morning.

 

Scotts Cornhole Classics kick off March 5th, 6th, and 7th at  at Atlanta Motor Speedway, in Atlanta, GA. Working with Scotts, the ACO has designed a large GameZone that will corral the Cornhole tournaments and cornhole events. Along with 10 sets of ACO Tournament Series Boards, there will be Cornhole Long-Toss and Air-Mail Challenges throughout the day.

 

For the fans, this will be an 80’x80’ Cornhole-Mania zone that they can enjoy participating in their favorite tailgating activity and have the opportunity to win a super prize packages” said Joe Montgomery, Director of Special Events for the ACO.

 

All pre-race registration can be done through Speedway Children’s Charities web site at http://www.speedwaycharities.org/. Just click on the track tab and go to events to register. Registration is limited so get in early to ensure your team a spot. Cost is $40/team and you can register for both tournaments if you like.

 

 Walk up registration will be allowed if spots are available on a first come, first serve basis in the Scotts Turf Builder GameZone starting Friday, March 5th at 9am.

 

The prize packages that SMI, Speedway Motorsports Inc., has put together with Speedway Children’s Charity are incredible. Cash, Race Tickets, and Cornhole Sets are just a few of the items offered as prizes.

Camping Space for the Labor Day race weekend

Trophies which will be awarded to the overall Champions.

 

Mr. Montgomery adds “The best part of the Scotts Turf Builder Cornhole Classic Tournaments is that all proceeds will benefit the Atlanta Chapter of Speedway Children’s Charities dedicated to assisting children’s organizations in the Atlanta area.”

 

This event moves in late March to Bristol Motor Speedway, then mid-April to the Texas Motor Speedway. As the ACO and Scotts roll into May, they will be holding a special dual weekend event at Charlotte Motor Speedway starting with the All Star Race weekend  and carrying over to the Coca-Cola 600!
