A lot of people in the nation are stuck focusing on the fact that the presidential race will contain two brand new faces for each party. Many people spend a lot of time looking at the various candidates for the Republican and Democratic nominations, and there are a lot of people to look at. There are at least 8 on both sides that are vying for these nominations, and along with discussion of who will get the nomination comes discussion of who is going to be asked to be the running mate of that person. There is a lot to think about when it comes to the presidential race. But most people fail to remember that this isn’t at all the only race going on in this election.
The nation needs to remember that in the election of 2008, the entire house of representatives is up for election, and so is a third of the senate. This is a lot of elections – and a lot of candidates that are focusing on running on their own tickets. A hot ticket election that doesn’t include a presidential bid is that of Dennis Hastert, who is Former House Speaker. He has announced that he will be seeking a second term in office, which his going to be only one of the moves that will shake things up on Capital Hill. The voters should be paying attention to these other races, because no matter who wins the presidential seat, there are going to be a lot of new faces to contend with all over Washington.
