Although it may seem as if he might want to target specific races, Obama seems to be campaigning without race in mind. In fact, African American people appear to be drawn to him, but not because he is of the same color. Instead, supporters of Obama state they are drawn to the candidate because of his vision.
According to USA Election Polls, Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama are leaders in the Democratic race while the Republican race is up in the air with several candidates vying for top tier status such as Rudy Giuliani, Fred Thompson, John McCain, Mitt Romney, Mike Huckabee, and Ron Paul.
Of course, many presidential candidates state their visions, which most often change before they even take office. However, many people think Obama is one that sticks to his word. He is “one of them”, or so they say. He is a man who is highly motivated and willing to stick his neck out on the line to accomplish things for the American people. He brings a vision of hope. He confidently states that he is no afraid of any other country in the world and that America is strong enough to stand up to anyone who comes “knocking” on the country’s door.
Will Obama have enough hope talks to persuade the country to elect him for the Presidential 2008 Election? It is undetermined at this point, considering there is no telling how long people will hold onto “hope” before really tuning into the realism with the other candidates. Although polls show he is doing quite well at this point. With the country at war, perhaps America does need a little hopeful thinking.
