A Look At The Democrats

The 2008 Elections have brought a wide diversity of Democratic candidates. First there is Bill Richardson and Joe Biden who have very little chance of becoming president. But as Mr. Richardson joked that Mr. Biden would be welcome as his secretary of state, it is apparent that they wouldn’t mind being Clinton’s secretary of state if she wins. These two are pretty much double speaking and not challenging anything so that they can serve the winner of the presidential elections.

According to USA Election Polls, Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama are leaders in the Democratic race while the Republican race is up in the air with several candidates vying for top tier status such as Rudy Giuliani, Fred Thompson, John McCain, Mitt Romney, Mike Huckabee, and Ron Paul.

Then there is Chris Dodd who is focused on the fact that he is one of eight candidates looking for a single nomination. He appears to be naïve about some things and isn’t influenced by any of the jostling. He seems to be in running for the idea of power, but doesn’t focus on jumping upon his rivals whenever a situation presents itself.

Then it comes to Barack Obama who has raised a lot of money based on his personal appearances. However, the charisma only goes so far and it doesn’t work on television. Part of the reason why people watching him on television don’t get the same feeling as they did with Bill Clinton, Ronald Reagan or the Kennedy’s is because he is a lightweight in what is a heavyweight division.

The next of the top three candidates is John Edwards who understand the campaign struggle very well. He could have a shot at a Vice President position, but this isn’t what he wants. He has been a sidekick to John Kerry before, but now his plan is simply to win the first primaries, acquire momentum and then let the money and free publicity role in.

Then there is the last of the top three candidates, Hillary Clinton. She ignores her rivals and instead focuses on the general election, she simple looks straight at the camera and speaks her mind. If Hillary wins the nomination then the moment of truth will come when she has to face the American people.
