Chris Brown, Fergie, And Other Singers Say R.Kelly’s Court Case Does Not Affect his Music Career

King of R&B R.Kelly apparently has an unstoppable music career that not even a ongoing court case can stop.

 

Five years after being charged with child pornography, the singer has yet to be officially charged or forgotten by the music scene.

 

R. Kelly was originally charged in 2002 and is accused of engaging in videotaped sex acts with an underage girl. Since his arrest, the case has been hit with a number of delays.

 

Although R.Kelly’s personal life has taken some noteworthy turns in regards to legal issues, Kelly has had six best selling albums and three nationwide tours. In addition to record success R.Kelly has various singers and rappers lining up to work with him.

 

Some of the artists released statements when asked about possibly collaborating with R.Kelly in the future, rapper Lupe Fiasco stated “The way the world works is quick, quick, quick, We consumed the scandal, and we're over it. It phased out."

 

Singer Fergie added by stating that she is currently in negotiations to work with R.Kelly and that " Everyone has their demons. Who doesn't have their scandal?"

 

Other singers both male and female insist that no matter the status of R.Kelly’s criminal background the music is all that matters in the entertainment industry. In a recent interview Chris Brown stated the importance of differentiating between the legal issues and the entertainer as reason for his support of R, Kelly. 

 

R.Kelly has sold 35 million albums in the United States ,15 million singles, and over 50 million albums worldwide R. Kelly released his eighth solo album ‘Double Up’, on May 29, 2007.
