A Soy Deli brand of Tofu has been recalled after the product maybe contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes, which is a dangerous bacteria that can cause serious health problems in the elderly and young children, or those with weakened immune systems.
The California Department of Public Health advises consumers to not eat Soy Deli tofu. The contaminated products were distributed to stores on the West Coast and the Midwest region. Among the recalled products are 12 ounce Soy Deli brand Water Pack Tofu, 30 ounce Soy Deli brand Nigari Tofu, and 16 ounce Quong Hop brand Water Pack Tofu.
Symptoms of infection include fever, headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea.
