Photo shows girl resembling Madeleine McCann carried by Moroccan woman

This is the fourth sighting of a girl resembling Madeleine in Morocco, but the first picture ever taken. Police were reportedly not very interested in the previous sightings because they believe the 4-year-old was already dead.   

The picture could add new evidence proving Madeleine is alive, and could prove Kate and Gerry McCann had nothing to do with the disappearance of their daughter on May 3. The couple was recently named suspects in their daughter’s case after police found traces of Madeleine’s DNA in a car the McCann’s rented 25 days after their daughter disappeared. Police believed Kate McCann accidentally killed Madeleine with an overdose of sleeping pills and Gerry helped cover up the crime.

“The picture poses serious questions. The child does appear to look like Madeleine,” a spokesman of the McCanns said. “Kate and Gerry are keen to establish what exactly we are seeing.”

The picture will reportedly be analyzed by face-mapping technology.
