A landslide in Uganda’s mountainous region of Bududa has left more than 100 people dead and as many as 300 people are still missing as rescue crews continue digging through mud to find survivors and recover bodies.
The landslide, triggered by heavy rains in the region, swallowed homes and buildings and left people with little opportunity for escape.
Officials have said that as many as 60 children who sought shelter in a health center are still missing as the building was completely destroyed during the landslide.
