Former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney, Republican candidate for the presidential nomination, has turned his usual attacks on Democrats to attacks on his own party. While embracing the popular view of many Republicans as well as Democrats that changes are needed in Washington, Romney claims that Democrats have not been winning elections, rather the Republicans acting like Democrats, have been losing their seats in the legislature.

In a new series of ads, Romney claims that Republicans are acting more like Democrats, citing a series of ethics issues faced by Republicans during the Bush administration. He is beginning to promote the same need for change message that the Democrats have been citing since the beginning of the primary season. The loss of many Republican legislative seats in the last election apparently made his realize the Democrats may have a good point in their campaign messages.
Using his background as a former governor and his breathing new financial life into the Salt Lake City Olympic Committee, his reputation for turning failing businesses into profitable companies is what his message is trying to convey to Republicans and well as Democrats that are more conservative. His stance on immigration also puts more distance between his campaign and the current Bush administration.
