Michael Evans, Colonel Douglas Austin on the Soap “The Young and the Restless,” Dead at 87.

Michael Evans, British born actor and stage performer, died from age-related complications on September 4 according to his son Nick.

Evans may have best been remembered as Colonel Douglas Austin on the long-running U.S. soap opera but the British born actor got his start in theater and shared top billing with Audrey Hepburn in the Broadway smash “Gigi.”

In 1980 Evans joined the cast of “The Young and the Restless” and remained until 1995.
