Tania Head Removed as President of World Trade Center Survivors’ Network after Questions of her Story Arise

Tania Head has been removed from her role as president of a nonprofit group designed to assist 9/11 survivors after her highly publicized account of survival on that day has been called into question.

According to Head she had been on the 78th floor of the World Trade Center’s south tower when it was struck by terrorists. Her claims that she was badly burned in the attack, that the man who saved her had died trying to save others and that she was entrusted by a dying man to give his wedding ring to his wife have never been substantiated.

As president of the World Trade Center Survivors’ Network Head had made numerous appearances as a guest speaker as well as led tours at the World Trade Center Visitor Center.

In a statement released on the organization’s website Head’s removal was documented, “Tania Head is no longer associated with the World Trade Center Survivors' Network. Our organization was created so that those affected by the terrorist attacks could help each other through crisis and its aftermath.”

CEO of World Trade Center Survivors’ Network, Jennifer Adams, stated “At this time, we are unable to confirm the veracity of Tania Head's connection to the events of Sept. 11.”
