To many in the Dennis Kucinich’s home district near Cleveland, Ohio he is referred to Dennis “The Menace” Kucinich due in part to his constant criticism of the political machine. Following a recent forum with the NAACP, Kucinich, along with cameras and microphones, picked up a hint by fellow Democratic contender John Edwards that large forum debates should be limited in number.
His comment to the current Democratic leader Hillary Clinton that they should try to have a more serious group of debate members on stage, was interpreted by Kucinich as being an attempt to keeping him out of the programs. Clinton allegedly replied that their people should talk about limiting the size of candidates on the stage, a comment later described as being in response on to the idea of having fewer candidates at one time. By breaking down the number they could have a more meaningful exchange.
Edwards claims he meant that instead of eight people at a time, they should randomly break it down to two programs, with four candidates during each one. Kucinich, back by a small but very enthusiastic group of liberal supporters, is often compared to the infamous cartoon character and perhaps he is seeing Edwards as the character’s antagonist neighbor Mr. Wilson, who would do anything to keep the boy out of his house.
Kucinich, along with some of the other lower tier candidates from both parties have one thing in common. They are finding it difficult to obtain exposure through the main steam press. According to figures from poll site, www.usaelectionpolls.com, Kucinich is consistently running at under two percent in all polls.
