Missing Woman Found in Her Car after Eight Days

Tanya Rider had been missing for eight days and her husband, Tom Rider, had been at the King County, Washington sheriff’s office readying himself for a lie-detector test when police finally located the woman after tracing her location from a cell phone signal.

Rider was found alive after more than one week stuck in her car following an accident in which her Honda Element tumbled down a steep ravine. When police discovered the SUV they had to cut the roof off to get to the 33-year-old woman who was suffering from severe dehydration.

Rescue workers rushed Rider to a Seattle hospital where, according to her husband, she was “fighting for her life.”
