DestinationVillas.com Reports Hurricane Lorenzo No Risk to Vacation Homes

Mexico Vacation Rental Homes Spared

DestinationVillas.com reports Hurricane Lorenzo was downgraded to tropical storm status early Friday morning. Neighboring port towns of Tecoluta and Tuzpan were ordered to close by Midnight due to impending flood waters, as rivers neared flood levels.

Much of Veracruz state is at risk of flooding after weeks of rain and Hurricane Dean. The storm sustained winds of 65 mph but had no impact on Mexico’s oil intsallations, according to Pemex.

Port activity has been suspended in the gulf states of Veracruz and Tamaulipas. Schools were closed and over 100,000 residents were asked to evacuate. There is no impact on tourism or vacation rental properties in Veracruz.
